After playing well over 300 matches of Halo Infinite’s multiplayer through my Christmas break, a Covid scare followed by an actual Covid infection, and a 10 day isolation period has left me with a feeling of nostalgia. New Teaser for the ‘Halo’ Live Action Series Debuts

It’s been stuck in development hell for years, but we are finally getting a live action Halo adaptation! While this was a project that has been trying to get off the ground, and passing through the high profile eyes of directors like Peter Jackson, Guillermo Del Toro, Alex Garland, and Neill Blomkamp, it is finally seeing the light of day in 2022 thanks to executive producer Steven Spielberg.

‘Halo Infinite Multiplayer’ and Other Surprises at XBox’s 20th Anniversary Stream

Xbox graced us along with 343 Studios and the rest of Microsoft with some surprise announcements at Xbox’s 20th anniversary special. The special itself was a simple enough stream that was quick to the point with its nostalgia bombs of the history of the console with a few surprises of what Microsoft’s immediate future plans are.

Back in October, The Nerds of Color caught up with game designer and Arkane Studios legend, Dinga Bakaba, to talk his latest next-gen masterpiece DEATHLOOP. The sci-fi first-person shooter released to critical reception in September, and Bakaba shared details of the game’s development, including the impact of boasting such a diverse cast of characters. After industry veteran Romuald Capron recently stepped down as Arkane Studios’s game director of 16 years, Bakaba was officially named his successor following DEATHLOOP‘s wildly successfully launch.

‘War for Wakanda’ is Proof Black Panther Needs His Own Game Already

War for Wakanda — Marvel’s Avengers free expansion — dropped last week, and T’Challa’s exploits defending his homeland from the likes of A.I.M. and Ulysses Klaue revitalize the game in considerable ways. When Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics announced their All-Access weekend ahead of the expansion on July 31, their player count spiked to over 10,000 gamers through the weekend, well above the game’s average of around 800 since its release last September.

‘Pokémon UNITE’ Reveals First Major Update

The Pokémon MOBA on Nintendo Switch, Pokémon UNITE, is set to receive its first and most impactful update since its release. The game’s official Twitter page tweeted yesterday that the update would be rolling out Wednesday, August 4 12AM PDT/ 7:00 UTC, with significant balancing changes at the heart of the update.
