The genius of Yorgos Lanthimos is not lost on me. I loved The Lobster and The Favourite. I admire his weirdness and dark sense of humor. I understood the appeal of Poor Things, even though I personally didn’t like it and found it offensive to persons with disabilities. But it was gorgeous and well-acted. So I wasn’t sure how Kinds of Kindness would sit with me.

The Power of the Dog stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. From writer-director Jane Campion, the new film is an adaptation of Thomas Savage’s novel. The Power of the Dog will be released in select theaters November 17 and begin streaming on Netflix December 1.

As a kid of the ’90s who loved going to Disneyland, never missed The Rock laying the Smackdown Thursday nights on WWE, and who was majorly obsessed with action adventures like The Mummy, this movie may have been made for me. Disney’s Jungle Cruise is a return to form for big movies with lots of heart, laughter, and a mighty dose of action-adventure that needs to be seen on the biggest screen possible.

Disney has just dropped a new trailer for their upcoming summer blockbuster, Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Ethel Brunt Emily Blunt. The trailer, focusing on Johnson’s character, Skipper Frank, was introduced by the big man himself, and showcases a lot more humor than previous previews we’ve seen, going as so far as to shrink the title card of Johnson’s own magnificent co-star.
Jesse Plemons is set to star opposite Elizabeth Olsen in the new Max Original limited series Love and Death as “Allan Gore.” Olsen was previously announced to portray “Candy Montgomery.” Love and Death is produced by Lionsgate. Executive producers include David E. Kelley (who will also write the series) through David E. Kelley Productions, Nicole Kidman and Per Saari through Blossom Films, Lesli Linka Glatter (director of the series), Scott Brown and Megan Creydt through Texas Monthly, Matthew Tinker, Michael Klick, and Helen Verno.

Not long after Dwayne Johnson took to social media to announce Disney’s Jungle Cruise will be hitting theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access on July 30th, the mega studio has decided to drop a new, exciting trailer filled to brim with CGI and quippy dialogue.
