Disney’s ‘Jungle Cruise’ to Set Sail in Theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access July 30

Finally… THE ROCK… WILL COME BACK… to Theaters, AND Disney+!

Coming straight from The People’s Champion himself, Dwayne Johnson announced via his Instragram that the long awaited Disney’s Jungle Cruise will be coming to theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access on July 30, this summer! Check out his announcement right here:

The film starring Johnson, and cinematic treasure Emily Blunt, is the highly anticipated adaptation of the beloved Disneyland theme park attraction that has charmed parkgoers for decades. The film, per Disney, “is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff (Johnson) and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton (Blunt). Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila — his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities — possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate — and mankind’s — hangs in the balance.”

Growing up with the Pirates of the Caribbean series, we know Disney has it in them to produce high-quality entertainment based on their legendary theme park IP. And with hugely charismatic leads like Johnson and Blunt, I think we’re in for the adventure of a lifetime in the same tradition as the Pirates franchise!

Disney’s Jungle Cruise hits theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access on July 30!
