NOC Review: The ‘Black Panther’ Lives On in ‘Wakanda Forever’

How do a filmmaker and his crew pick up the pieces of a story shattered by the heartbreaking loss of a fallen family member, who was both a protagonist and king? That was certainly the question left several days after the death of the incredible Chadwick Boseman, who passed away from colon cancer in August 2020, shortly after writer/director Ryan Coogler had just finished the first draft of his script for the sequel to 2018’s Black Panther.

‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’ Trailer Teases First Look at Quantum Realm

Seeing the vast wonders of the Quantum Realm in the Ant-Man film franchise was inevitable. We first heard of it in the titlular film, and then Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) spent some time trapped inside of it for five years — or was it five hours — after Thanos snapped half of life away. Now the new trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania gives us a look at how unusual this realm is and how dangerous it can be when a villain like Kang the Conquerer (Jonathan Majors) intends to extend his mighty hand beyond the very tiny world.

Jon Bass on the Parallels Between ‘She-Hulk’ and Real-Life

Television shows and movies are planned and written months in advance. So when a series is so reflective and representative of current events, audiences assume that it was written and filmed immediately in response. But that’s not how it works in real life. Marvel’s She-Hulk planned out their plot and storylines prior to the outrageous – and often misogynist – responses from “fanboys” who deemed the series as “man-hating.” Actor Jon Bass — who plays Todd, aka HulkKing, a character not far off from those commenters — was surprised at how much the series paralleled what was online in real life.

Tatiana Maslany on ‘She-Hulk’ Season Finale and Potential Future Cameos

She-Hulk’s season finale premiered last Thursday with what seems to be an unconventional happy ending. Jen/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) became the writer to her own story as she broke the fourth wall and confronted Marvel Studios — including the She-Hulk writers’ room and K.E.V.I.N. (Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus), an AI responsible for creating all of the MCU programs. Though the conclusion was very true to the comic book character, many were left wondering about the impact of the invasion of privacy and trauma that Jen went through in the last episode.
