The movie event of the year is approaching! That’s right! Dune is finally coming out, this year, on October 1! I’m so thrilled for this movie, and have been for the past year, given the pandemic prevented us from seeing it. Everything that we’ve seen so far has been astonishing to say the least.
Well now, we’ll finally to see some of the amazing footage — the new trailer no less — on the biggest screen possible as this morning IMAX and WB dropped this tweet, advertising an IMAX exclusive event to showcase never-before-seen footage at your local IMAX theater on July 21-22.Continue reading “Tickets Drop for IMAX First-Looks at ‘Dune’”
It has certainly been a while since we got some really big official news about Dune, which was my most anticipated film of last year, and became my most anticipated movie of this year. The Greatest Showman stars Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson genre-swap the technicolor movie musical for sun-kissed film noir as they reunite for the mind-bending action thriller, Reminiscence. Lisa Joy takes her Westworld sensibilities to the big screen, making her directorial debut — and re-teaming with Thandiwe Newton — with another project that has characters navigating between reality and reverie.
Check out the first trailer for the noir-ish thriller below!Continue reading “First Trailer for Lisa Joy’s ‘Reminiscence’ is Finally Here”
If Kyliegh Curran could describe her experience in Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep, she would say ‘exciting.’
Curran just started the press tour for The Shining sequel and chatted with multiple outlets all week. It was only during this time, it hit Curran that she was starring in a major motion picture.
“It was kind of a delayed reaction actually,” said Curran over the phone with The Nerds of Color. “When all the press started, I finally started thinking ‘oh, this is really big and super exciting.’ It was more excitement to be a part of this film.”
Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of The Shining is largely seen as one of the greatest horror films ever put to screen. It’s also definitely my second favorite horror film of all time. So as a fan, I firmly believe, by and large, that as a property I hold in such high regard, it should not be franchised, sequel-ized, rebooted, or remade in any way, shape, or form… unless talented filmmaker, Mike Flanagan (Gerald’s Game, Haunting of Hill House) is doing it (or to a lesser degree, Spielberg is paying homage to it)!
