New SYFY Series ‘Astrid and Lilly Save the World’ Stars Jana Morrison and Samantha Aucoin

Today, Universal just announced that they are moving forward with a new SYFY series called Astrid and Lilly Save the World.

To star in the show, SYFY has tapped two rising stars, Filipina Canadian actress Jana Morrison will play Astrid, and coming with her for the ride is fellow Canadian singer/songwriter/actress Samantha Aucoin.

Tim Rozon and Sarah Levy on Their New Series ‘SurrealEstate’

Tim Rozon and Sarah Levy star in SYFY’s SurrealEstate. The two actors have worked together previously on the beloved comedy series Schitt’s Creek, but now they will be serving as real estate agents that specialize in closing the deal on haunted and possessed houses. The new series will premiere Friday, July 16 at 10 PM ET/PT.

NOC Interview: ‘Selma’ Star Corey Reynolds Talks SYFY’s ‘Resident Alien’ and More

SYFY’s comedy-drama series Resident Alien has been a hit with fans of the graphic novel, and newcomers to the series as well, sitting pretty on Rotten Tomatoes at 93% as of writing this. Corey Reynolds (Selma, Straight Outta Compton), who plays Sheriff Mike Thompson in the series, said that the personalities of fellow castmates Alan Tudyk (Devil May Care and Raya and the Last Dragon) and Sara Tomko (3022 and Sneaky Pete), and series creator Chris Sheridan (Family Guy), are what most likely led to its positive reception.

Baron Vaughn Talks ‘Wild Life,’ 2020, and ‘Tales from the Hood’

Baron Vaughn graduated from Boston University’s theatre program and immediately went on to the Williamstown Theatre Festival. That same year he was cast in Drowning Crow with Alfre Woodard on Broadway. He was also featured in Damn Yankees at the NY City Center with Jane Krakowski and Sean Hayes. His television/film credits include Grace and Frankie, Girls, Superstore, Arrested Development, Cloverfield, and Black Dynamite. He is also the voice of Tom Servo on Mystery Science Theatre 3000 for Netflix.

Filmmaker & TV Director Jennifer Phang on ‘The Expanse’ and ‘Cloak & Dagger’

Jennifer Phang has been busy in episodic TV, directing episodes of The Excorcist, Riverdale, Cloak & Dagger, and two episodes of The Expanse leading to its recent Season 3 finale. She also directed the independent features Half-Life and Advantageous. I got to interview her about, among other things, her work on The Expanse Season three episodes “Fallen World” and “Congregation.”
