NOC Review: ‘Argylle’ is a Lot of Silly Fun… Until it Isn’t

Matthew Vaughn is a talented filmmaker. For those keeping score, this is a director/writer who has done some of his best work subverting convention with terrific films like Kick-Ass and Kingsman, and bringing out humanity in the fantastical, such as X-Men: First Class and Stardust.

New Trailer for ‘Night Swim’ Emerges from the Deep End

These days, so many critics of the current film landscape like to point out the lack of originality in storytelling. But the horror genre is and always has been a breeding ground for that originality to flourish. Many directors are able to tell their stories in short film form, and go on to adapt them for feature-length films. David F. Sandberg did this with Lights Out. And now Bryce McGuire is doing it with his and Rod Blackhurst’s short film, Night Swim.

The ‘80s were a heck of a decade, with some of the cheesiest, but also most legendary TV shows ever. You had The A-Team, 21 Jump Street, Dukes of Hazzard, etc. Less known, but equally as popular to the decade, was a show called The Fall Guy. It ran for five seasons starting in 1981, and told the story of a Hollywood stuntman who moonlighted as a bounty hunter. Now The Fall Guy is coming back to the big screen courtesy of Universal Pictures and the Ken-of-the-Year himself, Ryan Gosling. Today we have the official trailer for the film!

NOC Review: ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ is Not Very Compelling

What a disappointing start to the Fall Movie Season. First The Creator, now The Exorcist: Believer. These were two highly anticipated films for me this year, with this one supposedly being a follow up to my favorite horror movie of all time. And sadly, Believer simply doesn’t live up to what’s been otherwise a pretty solid year for horror, much less the legacy of its namesake.
