Wow! Does anyone else think our newsfeed is starting to look like the ’80s? Between Ghostbusters, Alien, Star Wars, Beetlejuice, and now The Fall Guy, I honestly feel like I’ve been transported back in time, as nostalgia runs rampant across all of pop culture. But if the buzz from SXSW is any indication, at minimum, The Fall Guy is shaping up to be one of the most outrageous nostalgia blockbusters of the year!

Folks who have seen the film are teasing that it’s one of the best action comedies in recent years, being a love-letter of sorts to the stunt industry. And frankly, that’s an area of filmmaking that deserves the love and hasn’t been receiving the amount it deserves for several decades now. Thankfully director David Leitch and his talented team of stunt workers, along with stars Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, and Hannah Waddingham will be rectifying this!

One of the things I love about the trailer is how much it feels similar to The Nice Guys in tone and Kenergy. Gosling is absolutely blowing it up right now (no pun intended), and seeing him embracing his amazing second calling as an action comedy hero is exactly what the industry needs right now! Just hearing him say “We’ll beat the s**t out of them!” multiple times in this trailer brings a smile to my face!
