To celebrate the release of this rollicking ride, The Nerds of Color was invited to attend a virtual press conference for the movie with the cast. As a kid of the ’90s who loved going to Disneyland, never missed The Rock laying the Smackdown Thursday nights on WWE, and who was majorly obsessed with action adventures like The Mummy, this movie may have been made for me. Disney’s Jungle Cruise is a return to form for big movies with lots of heart, laughter, and a mighty dose of action-adventure that needs to be seen on the biggest screen possible.
The biggest names in entertainment are promising some big adventure! Today, Disney just dropped a new Jungle Cruise featurette with producer and star Dwayne Johnson and star Emily Blunt discussing the film and their dynamic working with each other throughout the shoot. The preview definitely shows they’re having a complete blast taking us on this journey, and I think it’s going to pay off big!
Disney has just dropped a new trailer for their upcoming summer blockbuster, Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Ethel Brunt Emily Blunt. The trailer, focusing on Johnson’s character, Skipper Frank, was introduced by the big man himself, and showcases a lot more humor than previous previews we’ve seen, going as so far as to shrink the title card of Johnson’s own magnificent co-star.
Not long after Dwayne Johnson took to social media to announce Disney’s Jungle Cruise will be hitting theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access on July 30th, the mega studio has decided to drop a new, exciting trailer filled to brim with CGI and quippy dialogue. We also get a sense of the film’s plot and some fun looking action sequences in this one. The one thing it needs more of are the dad-jokes we get from the ride! Check out the trailer below:
Finally… THE ROCK… WILL COME BACK… to Theaters, AND Disney+!

Recently The Nerds of Color were lucky enough to visit the planet of Batuu, aka Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. And wanted to pass down some of our tips and tricks to you, our readers, for your next visit! In case you missed Part 1 of our coverage, we discussed intros to the land and linguistics while there, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, Blue and Green Milk, Oga’s Cantina, and Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. In this part, we’ll be discussing some of the food of Galaxy’s Edge, the shops at Black Spire Outpost, the Droid Depot, and Savi’s Lightsaber workshop.
August 15, 2015. That was the date that Disney announced at their biennial D23 Expo that it was going to fulfill the fantasies of every Star Wars fan in the world. They were going to bring the universe George Lucas had created to life, and give us all the opportunity to become a part of the world of Luke, Han, Chewie, and Leia, and allow us to finally live our adventure too. At the time the implications and details behind all of that were top secret, and for years speculation among fans became rampant. What would the rides be like? Could we drink Blue Milk? Would there be a Cantina? Can you become a Jedi? And most importantly can we fly the Millennium Falcon?
One week after retailers unleashed the power of #ForceFriday on Star Wars fans across the stars, Keith assesses the aftermath with fellow action figure and Star Wars enthusiast David Yeh (@coheteboy) of the Disney/Lucasfilm fansite Endor Express.
So my version of a nerd is a person who passionately and purposefully seeks out the way- more-than-necessary knowledge about a strangely specific subject1. There are barely-there nerd memories of inventing my own Pokémon with their successive evolved forms, obviously, Toonami afternoons of Dragonball and Dragonball Z, explaining The Adventures of Lois and Clark to my grandmother, and losing my elementary-aged shit when Hercules and Xena had their first crossover.
