Heyyy! It’s Kuya P back again with another NOC EXCLUSIVE! I recently sat down for a conversation with Comics Creator/Writer, Fred ‘That Guy’ Corder of Pockets Fulla Pillz to discuss what lead him from moving from the United States to the Philippines to create Manila’s only Black owned comic book / art toy company: Pockets Fulla Pillz & PFP Toys!
BIO: Frederick “That Guy” Corder moved from the Washington DC / Maryland area to Manila, Philippines 12 years ago because his comic book hobby caught on in the Philippines (via social media) which lead him to create Manila’s only Black owned comic book/art toy company: #PocketsFullaPillz & #PFP_Toys. Now the company is co-owned & co-created with his wife Agnes Corder (of Cavite). They have published 13 books thus far of their stories with tens of thousands of copies sold over the last 8 years to a loyal & growing fan base in the Philippines & the East Coast. It is their mission to represent Pinoy & Black voices in diverse action & dramatic roles. Their Nihilistic, Character driven, nootropic fueled dark dramady, follows the CIA’s multi-angled attempted kidnapping attempt of Satan itself… (it’s a renewable energy thing).
