Last month, we reported that horror icons Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and Bruce Campbell were reteaming to bring back the next installment in the Evil Dead franchise, entitled Evil Dead Rise. Today production is starting soon for this sequel to the seminal horror trilogy, and it has added three new cast members to the Lee Cronin directed project.
Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies and Nell Fisher will be joining the previously announced Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan on the project. The additions were announced via the Hollywood Reporter and confirmed by Cronin himself via the following tweet:
Admittedly, I haven’t had a chance to see the fine work these actors have been featured in just yet, but if I know Raimi and this franchise, they’re going to be spending a lot of time in red corn syrup! I definitely hope they’re prepared for that. I know we’ll be prepared to see it happen!
The film will begin production later this month, and will be releasing on HBO Max. No release date has been announced yet.
