Incredibly excited to share this all with everyone. First of all, it’s the first Marvel Studios interview I’ve conducted in my life! And second, it couldn’t have been with a more wonderful actress — Olga Kurylenko!
Now for those of you who have not seen Black Widow yet, I not only encourage you to do so because 1.) it’s awesome (I really don’t care what the haters say!), and 2.) the below contains pretty heavy spoilers pertaining to the movie.
**WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR BLACK WIDOW**
Now all that said, it’s fair to say the twist in the movie, particularly as it pertains to Kurylenko’s character has been met with some controversy by fans looking for somewhat more traditional interpretations of her character (or sexist trolls hiding behind anonymous Twitter accounts). But for my money, I legitimately and genuinely agree with the twist because of its emotional implications and payoffs for certain characters — namely Natasha Romanoff. If you disagree hard, that’s absolutely acceptable. And I myself have criticisms about how the character was used throughout the film from an execution standpoint. But nevertheless, I am 100% on board with it, and happy with the film we got!
Having said that, we get to the heart of the topic as well as the state of female-driven superhero and action films with Kurylenko!
