Jamie Lee Curtis assures us that Halloween Kills, the upcoming installment to the iconic Michael Myers and Laurie Strode saga, is a very different movie. In the new featurette from Universal Pictures, director David Gordon Green (Halloween, 2018) talks about raising the stakes with the franchise’s newest film, promising a “bigger, badder, nastier” version of the story we’ve known the last four decades.
Halloween Kills is set to arrive in theaters and streaming only on Peacock October 15, and the classic horror tale plans to ring in spooky season with a bloody good time. Back in 2018, Green’s Halloween absolutely killed at the box office, earning more than $250 million worldwide. The film also became the highest-grossing chapter in the four-decade franchise. It ultimately went on to set a new record for the biggest opening weekend in history for a horror film starring a woman.

Curtis has been an outspoken supporter of greater female representation in film and beyond, and her bond with co-star Andi Matichak, who plays Laurie Strode’s granddaughter Allyson in the series, is a testament to the relationship they share and influence she imparts.
Halloween Kills was written by Scott Teems (SundanceTV’s Rectify) and Danny McBride and David Gordon Green and is based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. Green is the director, alongside producers Malek Akkad, Jason Blum and Bill Block. The executive producers are John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green, and Ryan Freimann.
