Neil Patrick Harris and Brooks Ashmanskas star in Uncoupled. The new series, which is now streaming on Netflix, is a story about heartbreak, healing, and all the humor we find along the way. Harris also serves as an executive producer.
Michael Lawson (Neil Patrick Harris) seems to have it all figured out. He’s a successful New York City real estate agent with a great career, a supportive family, close friends, and a loving relationship with his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins). But when Colin unexpectedly moves out on the eve of his 50th birthday, Michael is completely blindsided. Overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.

Harris can most recently be seen in The Matrix Resurrections, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and 8-Bit Christmas, which I previously interviewed him about. The actor starred as Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, earning him multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominations, as well as two People’s Choice Awards and a Critics’ Choice Award. He also originated the role of Hedwig in the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Ashmanskas plays Stanley James. The actor is a two-time Tony nominee best known for his work on Broadway. His television and film credits include The Good Lord Bird, Julie & Julia, The Good Wife, Love You More, Tales of the City, and Better Nate Than Ever.

I had a fun chat with the duo about balancing the comedy aspect with the actual story and all of the big season finale cliffhangers. Be ready for spoilers!
