It’s no secret that The Mandalorian reignited the Star Wars fan base with its shiny gun-slinging attitude add very cute Grogu taking on a Lone Wolf and Cub vibe. Though the two were separated temporarily in hopes that Luke Skywalker could train Grogu in the ways of the force, the two eventually reunited. Now it’s time to see what new adventures they will embark on as they head to season 3. And series creator Jon Favreau shared brand new trailer at the D23 Expo.
Well, if this trailer looks familiar or you’re experiencing a sense of deja vu, it’s because this is the trailer that Star Wars Celebration attendees saw earlier this year. Based on what we know so far, Din (Pedro Pascal) is on a redemptive journey after he took off his helmet, twice. Though it was for circumstances beyond his control, Din has lost the right to call himself a Mandalorian. And as such, is considered an outcast by those within that creed. However, it looks like he is working his way to restore his reputation.
The reunion served as a sort of link to The Book of Boba Fett series and The Mandalorian season 3. Some would even consider the final episodes of the former as an opening act to the latter. And now that Mandalorian and Grogu have been reunited, they continue their journey through the lawless galaxy.
Of course, this being a major convention event, they couldn’t spoil all of the secrets and surprises. But what we can expect to see are plenty of Easter eggs and a few crossovers from the other Star Wars series. And who knows who will appear. One thing is for sure, season 3 will continue to fill the gaps in between Episodes VI and VII, and expand the Star Wars universe in ways the film could not.

Katee Sackhoff, Amy Sedaris, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Emily Swallow all reprise their respective roles. We also got confirmation that executive producer Rick Famuyiwa returns.
For now, we just have to wait and see. The Mandalorian Season 3 debuts exclusively on Disney+ in 2023.
