Mischa Barton Channels Agatha Christie in ‘Invitation to a Murder’ Trailer

The murder mystery genre is officially back in style. Following up on the likes of The Glass Onion and Poker Face, the upcoming film Invitation to a Murder promises a weekend getaway full of secrets, twists, and murder. The official Lionsgate description teases:

“In this homage to Agatha Christie, set in England, an amateur detective finds herself caught up in a real-life whodunit! Miranda Green (Mischa Barton, The O.C.) is summoned to the remote mansion of billionaire Lewis Findley along with five mysterious strangers. What do they all have in common? What’s become of their absent host? And who just murdered one of the guests in cold blood? Now Miranda must hunt for hidden clues, interview witnesses, and find the killer — before she becomes the next victim!”

In addition to Barton, the film’s main cast includes Chris Browning, Bianca A. Santos, Giles Matthey, Grace Lynn Kung, Seamus Denver, Amy Sloan, and Alex Hyde-White. It was directed by Stephen Shimek (Guardians of Time), with Jerome Reygner-Kalfon, Sebastien Semon, and Zeus Zamani serving as producers. Gérard Miller is credited with the original idea and Brian O’Donnell penned the screenplay. Reygner-Kalfron and Semon also served as story editors.
