Amandla Stenberg Explored Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Ahead of ‘The Acolyte’ Debut

Lucasfilm’s The Acolyte is just a few short weeks away from its streaming debut on Disney+. To celebrate Amandla Stenberg, who stars in the new series, made an appearance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during Season of the Force in Disneyland Park to the delight of fans and visitors.

While not much is known about The Acolyte, the trailers have hinted that the series is a very different flavor of Star Wars. Set during the final days of the High Republic, the series is plays more like a mystery thriller than an adventure across the galaxy as a Jedi master is investigating a series of crimes committed by someone who may be a former apprentice.

Leslye Headland created the series, based on Star Wars by George Lucas, and serves as an executive producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers. Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow are the producers.

Directors include Headland, who helms the two-episode premiere, with Kogonada directing episodes 103 & 107, Alex Garcia Lopez helming episodes 104 & 105, and Hanelle Culpepper Eps. directing 106 & 108.

Award-winning composer Michael Abels, known for his work on Get Out and Us, scored The Acolyte.

Disneyland Resort’s Season of the Force ends on June 2, 2024

The Acolyte launches its first two episodes on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, exclusively on Disney+.

Additionally, Disney has shared a new clip from The Acolyte, which sees Mae (Stenberg) engaged in a fight with her former Jedi master Sol (Jung-jae).
