Apple TV+ Debuts Trailer for ‘Sunny’ Starring Rashida Jones and Hidetoshi Nishijima

Apple TV+ just dropped the trailer for the highly anticipated series Sunny, starring Rashida Jones and acclaimed Japanese actor Hidetoshi Nishijima. The series stars Jones as Suzie, an American woman living in Kyoto, Japan, whose life is upended when her husband (Nishijima) and son disappear in a mysterious plane crash.

Sunny is the first American starring vehicle for Nishijima since rising to prominence (in the West) in 2021’s Oscar-nominated film, Drive My Car. For Jones, this is the second collaboration with Apple and A24 after starring in Sophia Coppola’s On the Rocks alongside Bill Murray in 2020.

Co-produced by A24, Sunny launches with the first two episodes on Wednesday, July 10, followed by new episodes every Wednesday through September 4.
