During the Disney 2024 Upfront Red Carpet, I had the honor of chatting with Dominique Thorne, who stars as Riri Williams in Ironheart, about the first things that stood out to her when reading the script, what she hopes to add to the Marvel legacy, and the fun of leading a show for the first time. The new series is coming soon to Disney+.

The actress shared, “This was my first time leading a series and it was so much fun. I felt far more prepared than I expected, shoutout to all of the incredible actors who have stepped up in my life as mentors and sort of whispered in my ear some necessary words to live by during the process.”

As for what really stood out to her about the project, she explained, “I think just how much of this was new to me, how much I hadn’t seen something like this before in the MCU specifically. I remember feeling impressed by just its existence as an undertaking in this space.”
