This is indeed a year for those about to die. No I’m not talking about Trump and Biden. I’m talking about epic gladiatorial stories of death-defying stakes. We have Gladiator 2 coming out this Thanksgiving. To psych you up for that, we also have the epic Peacock series Those About to Die, premiering July 18!

Set in Ancient Rome, the latest series from Falling Skies creator Robert Rodat, the show tells the incredible story of an ensemble of characters immersed in the seedy underbelly of the Roman games. It immerses you in the corruption, the bloodshed, and the crowd going wild at the sight of certain death. The series is executive produced and directed by legendary Independence Day director Roland Emmerich.

We were incredibly lucky to speak with the terrific ensemble of the upcoming series, including stars Gabriella Pession, Dimitri Leonidas,  Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, Moe Hashim, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Jojo Macari, and Tom Hughes. We dove into the gritty details about what it was like to basically throw themselves into the setting of Ancient Rome, how they became their characters, and what it was like to work with Emmerich!
