Obsession tells the horrifying tale of what could happen when you get exactly what you wish for. Stars Michael Johnston, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, Andy Richter, and writer/director Curry Barker spoke with The Nerds of Color about moments from filming and what their one wish would be.
Focus Features and Blumhouse invited us to screen Obsession, a new mind-bending horror that keeps you guessing every step of the way. Curry Barker has written and directed a wonderfully trippy film that explores just how far is too far when an unrequited love turns into violently chaotic romance. Michael Johnston (Bear) is a hopeless romantic whose wish for love comes true after using a “One Wish Willow” bark. Inde Navarrette provides an exceptionally thrilling performance as “Nikki,” the object of Bear’s desire who quickly loses control of herself as her Bear-obsessed alter-ego takes over with violent and disturbing obsession. While the extent of her actions to ensure that Bear never leaves her begin spiraling out of control, Navarrette’s acting performance steals the film as we see her personalities clash over ultimate control. The film culminates in a shocking turn of events that demonstrate that love may not actually be all you need.

The Nerds of Color had the opportunity to attend the red carpet premiere for Obsession and chat with the cast and crew about bringing this story to the big screen and what they each are currently wishing for. Watch our full conversations below.
