Gotham Freezes Over in ‘The Batman: Part II’ Tease

Okay, we have some good news and bad news regarding the next installment in Matt Reeves’ The Batman Epic Crime Saga. The good? Before he seduces Catwoman this weekend in The Odyssey, we have a first look at Robert Pattinson in the cowl! The bad news? We’re not going to see the actual movie for another year and a half!

First the good stuff. Like he did way back before the first Batman, Reeves took to social media to share the vibe of his Bat-sequel with some camera test footage of Pattinson in costume.

Set to another moody and atmospheric Michael Giacchino score, we see Batman slowly turn towards camera amidst a snowy Gotham City. Despite rumors otherwise, it doesn’t look like Pattinson will be wearing a different costume, as the original’s prominent collar is just as prominent this time. The first movie’s red and orange color grading is also still setting the tone in the sequel, making Gotham resemble hell frozen over.

Speaking of hell freezing over, that appears to be when the movie will come out. At the end of the tease, a release date of February 18, 2028 fills the screen — after we get a look at the modified logo for the sequel.

I know Reeves likes to take his sweet Bat-time making movies, but come on! The Batman: Part II was supposed to come out in October 2027, not to mention all of the delays that already pushed that release. Now, fans will have to wait an additional four months before the sequel to the 2022 original hits theaters.

The Batman: Part II will be in theaters February 18, 2028 (we hope). Mark your calendars. Again.
