‘Wonka’ Trailer Teases a Sweet and Whimsical Origin Story

When Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory came out in 1971, it was a fun, delightful, slightly dark in tone musical escapade that explored the morality of humanity and how some of the characters got just what they deserved for their unruly behavior.

NOC Review: ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ is Super Fun but Far From Invincible

In 1983, a spin off of the popular Donkey Kong arcade game hit arcades in Japan. That game was called Mario Bros., and featured the Jumpman hero of Donkey Kong, now named “Mario,” teaming up with his brother Luigi. The game became legend and 40 years later, the Super Mario Bros, as we know them today, are finally getting the big screen treatment they deserve (as I said before the 1993 movie doesn’t count). But is it the movie we deserve? Keep reading to see what we thought of The Super Mario Bros. Movie!

Discussing Donkey Kong with ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Star Seth Rogen

Donkey Kong is an icon! Little do people know Mario was actually a spin off of the original Donkey Kong game where the eponymous ape threw barrels at the then-unnamed character, “Jumpman,” who later became Mario. So when jumping into the role of the most famous video game ape in the world for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Seth Rogen had a lot to live up to. And thankfully, he nailed the role, like he was the king of the jungle!

Talking about Toad with Keegan-Michael Key of ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’

I’m not going to lie, Toad is my favorite character from the Mario franchise. He’s small, scrappy, courageous. And he’s literally the fastest accelerator in Mario Kart, which gives me the upper hand (I’m cheap like that). So it was exciting to hear that not only would he have a prominent role in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but also the talented voice behind him, Keegan-Michael Key, completely nailed the Toad voice!

Happy Mar10 Day from ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’

Well folks, today is March 10, or Mar10 for short. Which, for those unfamiliar, is the feast of Mario, patron saint of the Mushroom Kingdom, who defeated the evil King Koopa to save the princess and all the little toadstools from tyranny. It is a religious holiday for many, and to commemorate this, Nintendo and Illumination have released the final trailer for the highly anticipated The Super Mario Bros. Movie!

Hop on the Rainbow Road in the New Poster for ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’

2023 is a good year to be a Mario Brother! Just last week, guests at Universal Studios Hollywood got to experience the first US iteration of Super Nintendo Land, and in just two months, the plucky Italian plumbers are getting their very own animated movie (I would say “first movie” if I could, but that title is unfortunately tainted, and no amount of revisionist history can change that).

We Aren’t Talking About the ‘Wendell & Wild’ Trailer Enough

Okay, it’s been a pretty crazy news cycle recently. The monarchy has shifted, the Emmys happened, and we’ve been hooked on the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding Don’t Worry, Darling more than the movie itself. So it’s understandable that a few newsworthy moments have kind of slipped beneath the radar amidst the chaos. But… nah, I’m sorry guys, it’s absolutely ridiculous how much we aren’t discussing Wendell & Wild right now.

NOC Review: The Truth is Disney’s Live-Action ‘Pinocchio’ is a Weird Movie

Disney remaking its classics has been a completely mixed bag thus far. Sure they make billions. But they’re incredibly hit and miss. And it’s so appropriate that I’m kicking off the review for the latest Disney remake, Pinocchio (2022), with such a statement, because it is a completely mixed bag. And a weird one at that.

Let’s Just Focus on Keegan-Michael Key and Anya Taylor-Joy’s ‘SNL’ Episodes

With the upcoming Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live hosted by SpaceX billionaire, Elon Musk, fans of the variety show and some of the cast members have been up in arms regarding why the viral dogecoin guy is even performing. Musk isn’t an actor, and his IMDB is only filled with parody versions of himself. It’s a little suspicious why the space tycoon is even performing at all.
