Get ready to return to Cybertron folks! Transformers: One is hitting theaters September 20, and we are lucky to debut a new featurette from the upcoming movie featuring one of our very favorite actors — Academy Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry!
From his Emmy-nominated breakout performance in Atlanta to his role as Phastos in Eternals and his Oscar-nominated role in Causeway, Henry has proven himself a considerable force of talent, putting 110% into every single role and character he portrays. He’ll be doing it again voicing the legendary villain Megatron in Transformers: One. But this time, there’s a twist!

Set billions of years before the events of the other Transformers films, Transformers: One will see how iconic characters like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Megatron became the characters we’ve come to know today. Henry’s performance takes that into consideration. The challenge is having to portray Megatron as D-16, the robot he was before he became a villain. As such, we’ll see a much richer, layered performance in Henry’s version of the character than we ever have.
But don’t take our word for it. Check out Henry talking about his approach to the character in our exclusive featurette right here:
See his performance for yourself, when Transformers: One hits theaters September 20!
