Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have released the teaser to the anticipated A Minecraft Movie, directed by Jared Hess and starring Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge.
This is an interesting take on the game for many fans of the best-selling video game of all time. It’s hard to go wrong when Jack Black leads the charge in the film. In the world of Minecraft, gamers can build their world and must survive in it. Many who do not know the world may get confused by all the hostile mobs, including the Creepers and magma cubes. But, hopefully, the film will explain it thoroughly.
In the movie, four misfits — Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks) — find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To return home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and reconnect with the qualities that make each uniquely creative… the skills they need to thrive in the real world.

Hess, Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Olafsson, and Vu Bui serve as producers. Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, Jonathan Spaihts, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, and Anthony Tittanegro are executive producers.
A Minecraft Movie premieres in theaters and IMAX on April 4, 2025.
