Game of Thrones Buttons from Epic Proportions

So Comic-Con isn’t until June [Special Edition: NYC] and October here in New York.  But I couldn’t help myself. I’m obviously a BIG BIG BIG Game of Thrones fan. So I have been wanting to draw and then press these buttons for literally like two years now.  But since this obviously isn’t like… real “work,” it just had to keep getting pushed back until I had some free time.

Which I finally got.

So I decided to start by drawing six characters I thought I just had to have.  I started by drawing Jon Snow, followed by Khaleesi, Tyrion, a White Walker, and then to wrap it up — forgive me, but I just thought this was so clever — I had Bran and Hodor as two separate buttons. But if you put them together, you’ll realize its the same drawing.

So I drew these all straight in Photoshop. No pencils or paper.

Honestly, I did something that almost any monkey could do. I simply downloaded jpgs off of Google, then opened them up in Photoshop, and literally added new layers and just “traced” the photos in Photoshop. It was relatively easy to do. But tedious and somewhat time consuming.

The more I drew, the easier and faster it became. Overall, these five drawings took me a good amount of time.  Maybe a solid four or five hours in total. But I’m super happy with the way they came out. And can’t wait to get some more characters added.

And these buttons will eventually be available at the New York Comic-Con. Two buttons for $3. If you won’t be able to make it to the con, just shoot me an email, and I’m sure we can figure something out.
