Wonder Woman 1984’s second trailer debuted at DC FanDome, kicking off DC Comic’s first virtual fan event. With a generous sprinkle of sweet moments shared by Diana and a much more wondrous Steve after their reunion, the film’s second trailer featured several fight sequences and gives a solid glimpse at Cheetah, Diana’s colleague-turned-villain played by Kristen Wiig.
Director Patty Jenkins and the cast, including Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal, joined the Wonder Woman 1984 virtual panel at DC FanDome and answered questions from worldwide fans, including American tennis star Venus Williams who asked who between Wonder Woman or Cheetah would win in a tennis match.
Lynda Carter, the original Wonder Woman from the 1970s Wonder Woman TV show, made a surprise appearance, which prompted Jenkins to say “you are the reason why we’re all here.”
The respect and admiration was mutual, as Carter said she’s been a fan from day one, since Jenkins was first attached to the 2017 film. Carter further shared that after seeing Gal as Wonder Woman, her daughter said to her “Mom, I finally get it. I finally understand why everyone idolizes you. I finally get what Wonder Woman means to everyone.”
And I think it’s safe to say, thanks to Lynda, Patty, Gal, and the whole Wonder Woman 1984 crew, now we all do too.
Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters October 2. And check out the amazing look at the second trailer right here:
