The trailer for Jackie Chan’s latest action film Vanguard has just dropped in the US.
Directed by Stanley Tong, the adventure spy-thriller marks the 9th collaboration between the Hong Kong filmmaker and Chan. Tong is known for his action films with Chan, including Police Story 3 and 4 and Rumble in the Bronx, which introduced the martial arts icon to US audiences.

In Vanguard, Chan plays a member of a private security team called Vanguard. His team, filled with very stunning actors, including Yang Yang, Miya Muqi, and Zhu Zhengting, must protect an accountant from a deadly mercenary group. In the latest trailer, Chan and his team travel around the world (of course, pre-COVID) to fight against the bad guys threatening them. In Jackie Chan fashion, we see explosions and the most over-the-top stunt work that Chan probably performed himself. So, fans can expect lots of action and martial arts in this film.
The film has already been released in Asia, but performed poorly at the Chinese box office. Hoping to appeal to American fans of Jackie Chan and martial arts enthusiasts, Vanguard is now coming to the US on November 20. To hype up the event, there will be a special fan event screening on November 19, with Chan in attendance.
