UPDATED: Cap is Back! ‘Captain America 4’ in the Works with Malcolm Spellman

It’s not a spoiler alert to say A LOT happens in six episodes of the epic The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. So it would make sense for the story to continue in some way, shape, or form to explore everything it sets up. As such, it’s not surprising that today via The Hollywood Reporter it was announced that showrunner Malcolm Spellman is teaming up with staff writer Dalan Musson to write the fourth installment in the Captain America franchise.

No one has been contracted to star at the moment. That being said, fans are anticipating that the story will most likely take place in the aftermath of the hit Disney+ series, and are expecting the return of Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in their signature roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. And there’s also potential for fan-favorites like Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp to return as well. Plus, I’m 100% sure no one will object if this is just another platform for us to see Wyatt Russell’s John Walker punched in the face in all the hilarious ways he deserves to be–but in IMAX! But only time will tell!

Currently, of course, outside of the announcement itself, no one has any further news about Captain America 4 other than Spellman, Marvel Studios, and our lord and master, Kevin Feige. Whatever happens though, the one thing that is certain is that for anything the mad geniuses as Marvel Studios come up with, we’ll be there till the end of the line!

All episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are now streaming on Disney+!
