Sorry, Riverdale fans, we’re gonna have to wait a little longer until our favorite Archie Comics characters are back on our screens. The series’ official Twitter account shared that new episodes will return on Wednesday, August 11.
The show is currently on its fifth season and had its mid-season finale on March 31. We were left with many loose ends in the dramatic episode so here’s a small recap in case you need a refresher.

We’re in our time jump for the series, which is set seven years in the future. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is missing or was possibly abducted, which was the big cliffhanger when Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) went back to the bunker and he was nowhere to be found. Veronica (Camila Mendes) was forced to stay in New York as Chad (Chris Mason) when he tries to manipulate her into staying in their toxic marriage. Hiram (Mark Consuelos) frees all of the prisoners, which allowed us to see some familiar faces and leads Betty (Lili Reinhart) to have to defend her family from unwanted visitors. Reggie (Charles Melton) set Cheryl’s (Madelaine Patsch) maple groves on fire after she wouldn’t sell them. Archie (KJ Apa) refuses to accept a medal from his General, despite the man’s threats, knowing it was a bad mission. Toni (Vanessa Morgan) is on bed rest due to her pregnancy.
Now, this is only the basics of what went down, but you have plenty of time to watch the full episode and see all the insane twists and turns before the show’s return if you haven’t already.
Wednesdays are definitely not the same without our favorite CW show; August 11 can’t come soon enough.
