NOC Interview: Marisol Nichols Discusses Joining the ‘Saw’ Franchise in ‘Spiral’

Marisol Nichols portrays Captain Angie Garza in the new chapter of the iconic Saw series, Spiral, which premieres in theaters on May 14. The actress is a three-time ALMA Award nominee and known for her role as Hermione Lodge on The CW’s Riverdale. Some of her other many notable credits include Teen Wolf, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Resurrection Blvd, 24, and Vegas Vacation.

A criminal mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter in the book of Saw. Working in the shadow of his father, an esteemed police veteran, brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks and his rookie partner take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

On top of her work on screen, Nichols fights for the rights of young girls and women through philanthropic and activism work with her nonprofit organization Foundation for a Slavery Free World, as well as Youth for Human Rights International. Both organizations fight to shine a light on modern-day slavery and the commercial sexual exploitation of children both in the U.S. and on a global level. She also produces the annual Human Rights Hero Awards, where she honors organizations and individuals doing heroic work in this field.
