NOC Interview: Sam Richardson Talks His New Film, ‘The Tomorrow War’

Sam Richardson stars in Amazon Studios’ The Tomorrow War! The new action sci-fi movie will be available to stream on Prime Video starting July 2. The actor is best known for his roles in Veep, Detroiters, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. Some of Richardson’s most recent work includes Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. and HouseBroken. Along with The Tomorrow War, he also has many other new upcoming projects such as Werewolves Within and The After Party.

In The Tomorrow War, the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Chris Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

I got to chat with Richardson over zoom about his favorite part of the sci-fi genre, which event he’d like to witness via time travel, what will stand out to fans about The Tomorrow War, a tagline for his character, and more.
