Official Trailer for ‘Beckett’ Shows John David Washington in the Fight of His Life

Tenet is my favorite John David Washington film. There, I said it. Washington’s performance in the work he’s been featured in the last several years proves both his range as an actor but also his drive to further establish himself in the industry. His style is uniquely his own, with subtle hints to the performance magic that runs in the family. Netflix’s newest thriller Beckett has Washington in the fight of his life after a devastating accident forces Beckett to desperately trek across the country to the American embassy.

In order to clear his name, he’ll have to navigate tensions that continue to escalate as the authorities close in, political unrest mounts, and Beckett falls even deeper into a dangerous web of conspiracy.

The film, directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino and written by Filomarino and Kevin A. Rice, will make its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival on August 4, 2021. The film stars John David Washington, Alicia Vikander, Boyd Holbrook, and Vicky Krieps and is produced by Luca Guadagnino.
