Gwendoline Christie Joins the Spooky Cast of Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’

From the cold fronts of Westeros, to the chilling halls of Nevermore Academy. Gwendoline Christie joins the cast of Wednesday — the brand new Netflix series — as Larissa Reems.

The new entry into the Addams Family franchise follows the youngest daughter of the family, Wednesday Addams, as she attends school and hurdles the every day obstacles of adolescent life. Oh, and a supernatural mystery that threatens to harm her family and her town. Just the typical creepy, ooky, mysterious and spooky plot you’d expect from an Addams Family joint.

Christie, known for her role as Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, will portray Reems, the principal of Nevermore Academy.

Larissa Reems has a long-lasting rivalry with Wednesday’s mother, Morticia, portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Luis Guzman will portray the patriarch of the family, Gomez Addams, while Jenna Ortega is set to portray the titular character.

Wednesday got an eight-episode order from Netflix in February, with no release date yet in sight. Tim Burton will be directing and executive producing the series, with Al Gough and Miles Millar sharing duties as showrunners.

Wednesday Addams has a pretty large cult following among Addams Family fans, so there’s sure to be a huge turnout once the series does hit Netflix. The streaming service is sure to have another hit on their hands.
