Grace Van Patten stars as Zoe Marconi in Nine Perfect Strangers. The series, which is based on The New York Times bestselling book by Liane Moriarty, is a total of eight episodes and first premiered August 18 on Hulu. New episodes release weekly, on Wednesdays.
Nine Perfect Strangers takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director, Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.
Van Patten’s breakout performance was as the lead in Adam Leon’s Tramps, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. She also co-starred in Wilde Wedding as well as Under the Silver Lake. The actress can be seen in Noah Baumbach’s The Meyerowitz Stories, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and had its US domestic premiere at the New York Film Festival. Recently, she was in A Violent Heart as well as in the independent feature Good Posture, an official selection of the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.
On stage, Van Patten portrayed Joan of Arc in the Public Theater’s critically acclaimed production of Jane Anderson’s play Mother of the Maid. She also starred in Whirligig and This is Our Youth. On television, the actress has recurred in Netflix’s Maniac and HBO’s The Sopranos. Notable guest star roles include HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and NBC’s Law & Order: SVU.
Next, Van Patten stars in the new film Mayday, which premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and is being released by Magnolia Pictures on October 1. Upcoming, the actress will play the lead of the Hulu drama Tell Me Lies, which has received a straight-to-series order.
