Enter ‘The Sandman’ First Look at New Netflix Series

Today during Netflix’s virtual TUDUM event, we got our first glimpse of the eagerly awaited live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s seminal DC/Vertigo comic book series, The Sandman! It’s been a really long road bringing this one to life, with countless starts and stops for various film and tv adaptations. At long last, fans of the comic are finally getting it courtesy of Netflix.

And here is how it’s going to look:

Gaiman, himself, will be an executive producer on the show, and Tom Sturridge – who looks bloody perfect I might add – is going to be playing Dream (aka Morpheus).

Rounding up the rest of the cast will be Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Charles Dance as Roderick Burgess, Sanjeev Bhaskar as Cain, David Thewlis as Doctor Destiny, and Patton Oswalt as Matthew, Dream’s raven.

And in addition to the trailer we get to see a first look at some of their characters (Dream, Death, Desire, and Matthew) in the below photos!

I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited to see Gaiman’s trippy and surreal works of art come to life. And I’m eternally grateful we’re finally getting to see it

No release date has been set for this one just yet, but The Sandman will most likely release on Netflix sometime in 2022.
