They’re Back! Production Begins on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’

When it comes to MCU news, I tend to air on the side of caution. Given we aren’t a click bait publication, we don’t (and shouldn’t) report on anything that’s just rumored or speculative without basis or educated reason for speculation (like an officially released trailer or poster). But with that being said, given this morning’s tweets from both director James Gunn and Marvel Studios, we can officially report that production is finally underway on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!

This morning, Gunn himself, tweeted the following:

This was quickly re-tweeted by Marvel Studios’ own official Guardians account and Marvel Studios own account as well! So it’s official folks — The Guardians are back!

The image from right to left features Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Chris Pratt, Sean Gunn, James Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, and (most exciting of all) the recently officially announced a very blonde and muscled Will Poulter playing Adam Warlock!

In the grand MCU tradition, we have no idea what this is about. Though it is fair to say, given the events of Endgame it will deal with the existence of the 2014 Gamora variant, and (obviously) the creation of soon-to-be major MCU player, Adam Warlock (presumably a creation of Vol. 2’s The Sovereign as the end credit of that film implied). It has also been said a few times by Gunn himself that this will be the final film for this iteration of the Guardians.

Whatever the case, I’m am ready for the music, the laughs, and the adventure! Bring it on!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters May 2023!
