To celebrate the return of Emily in Paris, I had the chance to chat with Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Camille Razat, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Leon Laviscount, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, and Samuel Arnold! The second season premieres December 22 on Netflix.
Now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily’s getting better at navigating the city but still struggling with the idiosyncrasies of French life. After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work — which is getting more complicated by the day. In French class, she meets a fellow expat who both infuriates and intrigues her.
Along with starring in the series as Emily Cooper, Lily Collins also serves as a producer. The actress’ performance in Rules Don’t Apply secured her first Golden Globe Award Nomination in the Best Actress Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. She then received her second Golden Globe nomination for her role in Emily in Paris.
Her other credits include Mank, Les Misérables, Tolkien, Okja, To the Bone, The Last Tycoon, A Wizard’s Tale, Love, Rosie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Mirror Mirror, Stuck in Love, Abduction, The Blind Side, as well as Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. Up next, the actress is set to play the title role and produce Lena Dunham’s upcoming Polly Pocket feature film.
Ashley Park (Mindy Chen) can be seen in the comedy series Girls5Eva with a recurring role as Ashley. The show has also been renewed for a second season. It was recently announced that the actress will star in an untitled comedy feature for Lionsgate and Point Grey Pictures, with Adele Lim attached to direct. Earlier this year, she wrapped production for Mr. Malcolm’s List.
Park’s previous television credits include Tales of the City, Helpsters, and Nightcap. Her theater work includes Mean Girls, KPOP, Cinderella, The King and I, Sunday in the Park With George, MAMMA MIA!, and Grand Horizons. It was also announced that she will star as Cinderella in Into the Woods in New York City Center’s Encores! 2022 season.
Camille Razat (Camille) made her acting debut in Rock’n Roll. Her other work includes (Girl)Friend, Girls with Balls, The 15:17 to Paris, and Les Choses humaines. The actress recently finished filming Mastemah, a horror thriller.
Lucas Bravo (Gabriel) will next be seen in Anthony Fabian’s Mrs Harris Goes to Paris. He is currently in production on Dean Craig’s romantic comedy The Honeymoon. The actor has worked alongside various TV and cinema projects, including the 2016 French thriller L’EQUIPE and Smart Ass.
Lucien Leon Laviscount (Alfie) was last seen in Katy Keene as Alexander Cabot. Previous to that, the actor shot two seasons of the Sony-Crackle series Snatch. Other notable TV credits include Scream Queens, a recurring role on Episodes, and BBC’s series Skins. His film work includes Love Beats Rhymes, The Bye Bye Man, and a lead in the Independent feature Honeytrap.
Philippine Leroy Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau) started her career on screen in Roger Vadim’s Surprise Party. Her other credits include Mistral’s Daughter, Three Men and a Cradle, The Possessed, La Revolution francaise, Neuf mois, La Belle Verte, Two Brothers, and Eternity. The actress also starred in the Netflix series Call My Agent!.
Samuel Arnold can currently be seen starring as Julien in the Netflix series Emily in Paris.
