Auliʻi Cravalho Discusses ‘Crush’ and All Things Rom-Coms

Auliʻi Cravalho portrays AJ Campos in the queer romantic comedy, Crush. The new Hulu original film is now streaming!

When an aspiring young artist is forced to join her high school track team, she uses it as an opportunity to pursue the girl she’s been harboring a long-time crush on. But she soon finds herself falling for an unexpected teammate and discovers what real love feels like.

Cravalho is best known for voicing Moana. Additional credits include Ralph Breaks the Internet, Rise, Weird City, The Little Mermaid Live!, and All Together Now.

I had a wonderful chat with the actress about her happiest moment, favorite romance tropes, what makes the perfect rom-com, her takeaway from playing AJ, what she hopes to see in the entertainment industry going forward, and much more!
