We’re only halfway through the year, and we’re already gearing up for awards season. This morning, the newest trailer and poster for potential contender Amsterdam has officially made its way to the internet, giving us a first glimpse at the all-star cast behind one of fall’s biggest releases.
The picture comes from David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) and stars a line up of some of the most talented actors working today, led by Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington. Here’s a look at the trailer:
The film is a period piece set set in the 1930s, and centers on three friends caught in the middle of a murder that is tied to one of the most shocking plots in American history.
It should be noted that while we are eager to see the film, Russell is a controversial individual to say the least. We at The Nerds of Color would like to speak out against any such real-life misconduct or toxic behavior from any filmmaker or artist involved in any film.
The cast also features Robert De Niro, Anya Tayler-Joy, Zoe Saldaña, Rami Malek, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, and… well… it’s actually just easier to show you via their teaser poster:
