Sarah Michelle Gellar and the Cast of ‘Wolf Pack’ Preview Their New Supernatural Series

Wolf Pack, which is based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, premieres on Thursday, January 26, exclusively on Paramount+. To preview the series, I spoke with Sarah Michelle Gellar, who also serves as an executive producer, Rodrigo Santoro, Chloe Rose Robertson, Tyler Lawrence Gray, Bella Shepard, and Armani Jackson!

WOLF PACK follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and drives it to attack a highway traffic jam beneath the burning hills. Wounded in the chaos, the boy and girl are inexplicably drawn to each other and to two other teenagers who were adopted sixteen years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire. As the full moon rises, all four teens come together to unravel the secret that connects them – the bite and blood of a werewolf.

“I can’t really tell you because then I would be giving away secrets and what’s interesting when you first meet her, her motivation is extremely, very driven and very linear,” Gellar teased when I asked her about the character of Kristin Ramsey. “It is to find out who started the fire, but that’s not really why she’s there, You’ll have to wait and find out.”

“I think it’s a big metaphor for the monsters that we all face,” Santoro explained to me in regard to the supernatural genre. “So one of the things that I hope Wolf Pack can do is to normalize those conversations, especially with the young, not only teenagers but the younger audience. Conversations need to be had in order to normalize that.”

“It also starts with each character being in a different place mentally, but they’re all sort of in the same place in that, in my opinion, none of them are truly happy in their own right,” Robertson reveals. “I think that’s a great place to start because that’s a great place to start the conversation, to start the thoughts, and to start talking about how we feel as people in everyday life.”

“I think everyone is constantly discovering new things about themselves, and until you really are confident and find who you are as a person, it’s a journey. That’s the point of life, you’re supposed to go through different experiences and take away lessons that are supposed to improve you as a person,” Gray expressed to me. “They’re trying to live, they’re trying to enjoy life and I love that the show really does show the groundedness of relationships between people. I feel like it’s going to be very relatable for a lot of people out there.”

Shepard shared, “I think the fun of being an actor on a supernatural project is you’re not writing the storyline, so you don’t know what’s gonna come your way as an actor. You don’t know what you’re gonna be thrown with, so it’s fun as an actor.”

“It means a lot too to have the fanbase of Teen Wolf so supportive of us because usually, you have to find your fanbase when a show comes out,” Jackson said about the fan support so far. “We already kind of have like half of it built in, so it’s really nice to see that they’re excited and they like what they’ve seen so far.”
