‘The Batman’ Saga Continues with ‘The Penguin’ on Max

Warner Bros. and DC just unveiled an “in-production” teaser for The Penguin, the forthcoming spinoff of Matt Reeves’ The Batman, starring Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell as the titular kingpin of Gotham.

Billed as “the next chapter of The Batman Saga,” these initial shots of The Penguin definitely evoke Reeves’ moody take on The Dark Knight and his Rogues Gallery. Set after the events of the film. the Max Original Series will follow Oswald Cobblepot’s rise to power in the Gotham underworld.

The teaser features some new footage — both in-front of the camera and behind-the-scenes — of an unrecognizable Farrell once again inside the Oscar-nominated makeup as the Penguin alongside new cast members including Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell, as well as our first look at Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone.

The Penguin is set to stream on the newly rebranded Max streaming service some time in 2024.
