How ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Star Chukwudi Iwuji Evolves the MCU Villain

It’s Guardians Vol. 3 Week here at The Nerds of Color. We dropped our review here on Monday! On Tuesday we brought you our fun conversation with Star Lord, himself, Chris Pratt. And today we are proud to present our terrific interview with the film’s big bad, Chukwudi Iwuji, who plays The High Evolutionary!

Ever since he broke into the mainstream with his role as the gruff but lovable Murn in Peacemaker, Iwuji has been on a meteoric rise to fame, demonstrating charisma and passion in every line he delivers. And he brings that Shakespearean level of weight and gravitas to the role of The High Evolutionary as well. Take a look below at our interview with the MCU’s latest nefarious force of nature!

Iwuji takes what could have been a 2D villain role, and elevates him to a genuine menace for our heroes! His really dark nature and how his story connects with Rocket’s origins deliver a true gut punch for audiences, giving them a villain that cannot be reasoned with, and with a formidable amount of power against the Guardians of the Galaxy. I can’t wait for you all to see his incredible performance.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 hits theaters starting tonight, May 4!
