Last week we revealed the new posters for David Gordon Green’s legacy sequel to The Exorcist, entitled The Exoricst: Believer. And today, Universal and Blumhouse has debuted the new, terrifying trailer for the upcoming release, coming Friday, October 13!

The Exorcist remains my all-time favorite horror movie. And while, as a critic, I try to leave expectations at the door, as a fan, I feel like those expectations may be sky high. It’s the only battle within one’s self that’s harder than demonic possession (let’s face it, demons are scary, but fanboys are scarier).

That said, take a look for yourself and see how well you can temper those expectations with a trailer this good!

While Green’s Halloween reboots eventually petered out (as any good horror franchise tends to), one has to remember the first was solid. So if nothing else, maybe we can expect the same from this reboot/legacy sequel to a classic!
