Season 2 of Amazon’s The Wheel of Time has officially begun airing on Amazon Prime. We got the chance to sit down with series directors Sanaa Hamri and Thomas Napper just before the premiere.
Fans will be happy to see that the increased budget was put to good use for the second season. The story has the main cast going on their own separate journeys, which means different locations, events, and interactions all happening concurrently. Another noticeable change from the second season is the vastness and variety of locations. And the scale of important conflicts puts the series more in line with Game of Thrones and The Rings of Power.
We cover a variety of topics including: which books make up the first two seasons, change of scope, and the division of responsibilities among writers, showrunners, and directors.
You can watch The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime. New episodes are available on Fridays.
This piece and interview were written and conducted during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. We hope this interview highlights how important writers and actors are to the creative process.
