Shanghai Disney Resort has released the first set of new images of Zootopia Themed Land. The latest park expansion will have attractions, foods, and an experience that puts guests into the world of the 2016 film of the same name.
And to celebrate Destination D23, Disney Parks and Resorts has revealed exclusive details on all the new experiences coming to the land from Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, a brand-new attraction and unique entertainment to merchandise and fully Zootopified food and beverage experiences.
In the Zootopia: Hot Pursuit Attraction, guests become a rookie of the Zootopia Police Department (ZPD) and engage in a hot pursuit to save a kidnapped Gazelle and bring her back in time for the big concert. The trackless dark ride is a chase that traverses across Zootopia’s iconic terrains, sliding across the ice of Tundra Town, prowling for fugitives through the streets of Sahara Square, sharing a too-close-for-comfort encounter at Mystic Springs Oasis, and plummeting from the canopies of the Rainforest District all in pursuit of Bellwether and her gang to track down Gazelle.

Photo-ops are as much of the Disney park experience as it gives guests the opportunity to take a photo with some of their favorite Disney characters. And in the Zootopia Themed Land, guests will be able to snap some pics with Fru Fru and her father Mr. Big, along with Koslov the polar bear, Flash the sloth, Yax the yak, Duke Weaselton the weasel, and even the Hopps family who appear to interact amongst themselves (and sometimes even with you!) throughout the day from the windows of Zootopia’s beautifully iconic buildings.
Guests can even take selfies with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde at the Zootopia Recruitment Station.

Of course, it wouldn’t be much of a Zootopia experience without the food. And there were be quite a few sweet treats — I’d imagine it be a little weird to eat an animal inside a place like Zootopia. Tiny critters can have a sweet yet tart paw-shaped Disney Zootopia popsicle, while the bigger beats can have a giant popsicle. There’s also the Chocolate Marshmallow Donut that is very much like the donut sign seen in Zootopia when Judy Hopps was able to catch it before it fell on Fru Fru. And pie fans can enjoy the Blueberry Pie. Don’t worry they are not night howlers, so you won’t go feral if you eat it.

Finally, Fashions by Fru Fru brings the latest Zootopia fashion to Shanghai Disneyland. There guests can shop for the perfect gifts for family and friends amongst hundreds of different themed products including the Zootopia Cute collection as well as fun new headwear, apparel, accessories and more. Inside the store, you’ll also find two special areas themed after Yax and Duke Weaselton.
As always, we’ll keep you posted about any updates regarding this expansion.
