While covering the Disney 2024 Upfront Red Carpet, I had the privilege of interviewing the legendary and hilarious Danny DeVito! We chatted about season 17 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which is on the way.

DeVito, who plays Frank Reynolds, told me, “Well, we’re very excited to start Season 17. We were just talking about like, this year, especially this year, because FX has always been great, and now we’ve got Disney with us. So the idea is that, since we’re with Disney, we could… we were very tame over the years, it was a little bit contained but now, we could pull out the stops. We can really do stuff that shakes the cages, rattles the brain, and brings it up, you know? Like, let’s turn the burners up. Make it funny, yeah, and outrageous.”
The series premiered back in 2005 and is the longest-running live-action sitcom ever. So what does that mean to the actor? “Well, it’s great. It’s just great to do it. Let’s keep going. You haven’t seen anything yet, we’re gonna keep going, you know what I mean? You’re gonna have to drag us out of here — you know what hams are? See, I made you laugh. That’s the thing, okay, let’s have some fun in life,” he expressed. “There’s a lot of serious stuff, but let’s have some fun. Let’s go.”
Lastly, he spoke about the incredible and passionate fan base, saying, “We love the fans. They’re great. It’s great, we love it. We like that. We like the fans. I like the tattoos, I like the little kind of memes, all that stuff. Keep it coming!”
