The ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Cast Teases ‘Crazy, Fun, Wild’ Season 3

Pack your bags, because it’s time to head back to Wellsbury!

It’s been over two years since Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia ended its sophomore season on a stunning cliffhanger. But if you thought things couldn’t get any wilder after that explosive finale, fasten your seatbelt. Season 3, which hits Netflix this Thursday, just might be the show’s most chaotic chapter yet.

The YA comedy-drama series centers on unconventional mother-daughter duo Georgia (Brianne Howey) and Ginny (Antonia Gentry) Miller as they try to leave Georgia’s tumultuous past behind and start fresh in the small, close-knit town of Wellsbury, Massachusetts. But starting over is never that simple… at least, not when you’ve got as many secrets as Georgia.

Consequences finally caught up to Georgia in the Season 2 finale  “I’m No Cinderella” when she was arrested — at her own wedding, no less — for the murder of her former friend Cynthia’s (Sabrina Grdevich) terminally ill husband. Season 3 picks up right where we left off, with Georgia now behind bars and facing trial. Needless to say, Ginny’s world has been turned completely upside down.

“I’m most excited for fans to see Ginny really take charge this time around,” Gentry tells The Nerds of Color. “Everyone’s been begging for Ginny to be on the same side, same page as Georgia. And we got there towards the end of Season 2. Once you end with such a cliffhanger, you wonder if they’re still gonna be on the same page, if they’re still gonna be able to get through this together. That’s the biggest litmus test, I think, this season.”

On top of Howey and Gentry, Ginny & Georgia stars Diesel La Torraca as Ginny’s younger brother Austin, Felix Mallard as her on-and-off love interest Marcus Baker, and Sara Waisglass as Ginny’s best friend (and Marcus’ twin sister), Maxine. Additional cast members include Jennifer Robertson, Scott Porter, Raymond Ablack, Katie Douglas, Chelsea Clark, Nathan Mitchell, Humberly González, and more. The series is created by Sarah Lampert, who serves as co-executive producer alongside new showrunner Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: Next Class).

Ahead of Season 3, The Nerds of Color got the chance to chat with Antonia Gentry, Brianne Howey, Felix Mallard, and Sara Waisglass. We discussed what it was like to play a more vulnerable Georgia, the Baker twins’ increasingly “layered” sibling dynamic, their favorite episodes to film, and more.

“It’s gonna be crazy and fun and wild,” Gentry teases. “I’m super excited for this new version of Ginny that we get by the end of the season.”
