Reasonable Doubt is never one to shy away from taboo topics. In Season 3, we’re introduced to popular former child star Ozzie (Kyle Bary), who is implicated in a murder case. We soon learn that his long-time manager, Monica (Brandee Evans), is carrying a big secret involving predatory behavior that began when Ozzie was a young teenager. After explosive questioning on the stand, Monica exposes their secret.

In many communities, abusive and predatory behavior is often swept under the rug or dismissed to protect perpetrators or deny the existence of such problems within a family. This tends to lead to victims feeling isolated and guilty, often finding themselves incapable of seeing the courage to speak up when they’re being abused. We had the opportunity to discuss this with Brandee Evans, as well as what it was like preparing for such a heavy role. Watch the full interview below.

You can catch the finale this Thursday, November 13, on Hulu.
