Oh man, the anticipation is killing me! Today during DC FanDome, James Gunn and the full cast of The Suicide Squad, including Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Alice Braga, John Cena, Viola Davis, and more took to the internet to share some awesome announcements and fun for fans across the world, who have been waiting on pins and needles for the eagerly awaited follow-up. And my god. I think they may have just won the whole DC FanDome experience!
Gunn kicked off the proceedings by taking fan questions, going into how he loved original Suicide Squad books, and the Dirty Dozen feel of the comics, as well as his admiration for Amanda Waller as a character. He also expressed his excitement for writing Harley’s character. On featuring “under the radar characters,” he said he considered the movie as a sequel to John Ostrander’s original comic book run, but also took in a lot of other supervillains that he loved, who were obscure in the comics, like Polka Dot Man, and added them into the movie.
Gunn then got into the big news and revealed the full cast and who they’re playing. Here’s the full rundown in DC/WB’s official video reveal:
The cast then split into teams and played a hilarious DC Trivia game of “Everyone Hates Michael Rooker,” before Gunn and team revealed an explosive looking Behind The Scenes reel with a few snippets of footage thrown into the mix (WHY ARE YOU TEASING US LIKE THIS!)

I dunno about anyone else, but if my wi-fi were to die for the rest of the day, and I couldn’t watch the rest of FanDome, I tell you all, I’m good! Thank you Mr. Gunn for doing this Squad right! This is going to be an explosive ride!
The Suicide Squad hits theaters in 2021!
